Hans J. Wegner (1914–2007) was a master of Danish modern design and one of the most prolific designers of his time. Over his career, he created around 500 chair designs, many of which have become enduring classics still produced today. A key figure of the “Golden Age” of modern Danish design, Wegner was deeply inspired by the natural beauty of wood. His work skillfully combined functional craftsmanship with a poetic and playful edge. To Wegner, a chair was more than just furniture—it was a thoughtfully crafted work of art, designed to beautifully support the human form.
