Louis Poulsen Panthella Portable 160 Table Lamp is the NEW portable V3 edition of Verner Panton’s popular Panthella Table lamp from 1971. Panton intended to create a light in which both the base and the shade served as a reflector and use the organic shapes that he is known for. The fixture emits a soft and comfortable illumination, and are easy to turn on by touching the top of the lamp.

The Design: Panthella Table Lamp

The Panthella lamps, designed by Verner Panton in 1971, remain one of his most popular lighting designs. Characterized by organic shapes, they reflect Panton’s signature style. Originally available in a variety of bold colors, the lamp was designed so that both the base and the shade function as light reflectors.

Verner Panton (1926–1998)

Known for his bold use of color, shape, and light, Verner Panton was a visionary designer who redefined modern lighting. Unlike his Scandinavian peers, he embraced unconventional forms and materials, challenging traditional design norms.

Panton believed design should inspire imagination, rejecting dull conformity in favor of vibrant, experimental spaces. His innovative approach, though sometimes criticized, has stood the test of time, with his creations remaining as influential today as ever.
