House of Finn Juhl Nyhavn desk – a table with character!

A very simple desk with blued steel legs was Finn Juhl’s first design for his first studio at Nyhavn 33 in central Copenhagen in 1945. It defined his furniture design in the 1950s.

The desk can be ordered with or without a 3-drawer unit.

The Nyhavn Desk, Designed by Finn Juhl:

When Finn Juhl opened his first studio at the exclusive address of 33 Nyhavn in central Copenhagen in 1945, he designed a very simple desk with burnished steel legs, a detail that would come to define his furniture design in the 1950s. When Finn Juhl moved his studio to Sølvgade 38 in 1957, the same tables were still in use.

When Finn Juhl designed the Nyhavn desk, he was inspired by the simple designs of his American colleagues, especially Charles Eames. However, his flair for functionality and detail gives this piece its true character.
