The Chair FJ 45 is the definition of a true masterpiece and represents Finn Juhl’s design genius. The chair was introduced at the Copenhagen Cabinetmaker’s Guild Exhibition in 1945 and was called the “mother of all modern chairs” by Japanese professor and chair expert Noritsugu Oda.

Now this great chair has been produced by House of Finn Juhl in Denmark since 2003.

This chair was one of the first to break away from the current tradition of armchairs by freeing the upholstered areas from the wooden frame. With the 45 Chair, Finn Juhl created an elegant chair in this innovative style he has been working towards for many years. The result was a clean, strong and elegant chair and a quiet revolution.

The space between the frame and the seat creates a lightness that, combined with its organic shape and raised details, creates a unique beauty.

The chair is also very comfortable and appeals to all the senses.
