About Stouby

Stouby’s story began in 1902 in a small village of the same name in central Jutland, Denmark. With little more than a few hundred kroner, half a hide of leather, an old chaise longue frame, and some linen, founder Marius J. Blirup took his first steps into furniture making. What he lacked in resources, he made up for in creativity and craftsmanship — soon becoming a regular exhibitor at “Købestævne,” the internationally recognised Danish design and craftsmanship fair.

More than a century later, that same spirit of quality and care still defines every piece that leaves the Stouby workshop.
